according to Thai cosmology, Sumero Mountain is the center of the universe. The mountain, supported by Anondha fish stays above the surface of the water. It is the residence fo spirits ranging from deities in heaven to devils in hell. The beings living by the mountainside also include humans, naga, garuda, ogres, ogresses and yogi each of which is distinguished by wisdom and dignity. Sakka or Indra is the king whose most important responsibility is to protect the serenity of the world community. Sumero Mountain is surrounded by an ocean, called Nathi Si Thankorn, while the Himaphanta Forest and Anodata Pond are at the foot of the moutain. Four springs are indicated by the faces of four different animals which are the lion, elephant, horse and ox (out of whose mouth water flows from the pond into the ocean) and which are located on the four cardinal points of the pond
