Thailand69_Ancient_City1/ Phra Aphaimani Garden |
based on a verse play, Phra Aphaimani, about the amorous exploits of the young prince who the play is named after. The play is by Sunthon Phr of the 2nd, 3rd reigns of the Rattanakosin era. Here the hero prince plays flute for one (Si Suwan) of his mermaid wives; three Brahmins (Wichien, Mora and Sanon) are put to sleep by the bewitching melody. The Ocean Butterfly, the sea ogress, carries off Phra Aphimani. Also shown are Sud Sakhon, Phra Aphimani's son by Si Suwan, riding a dragon horse and an unclothed recluse. |
